Confirmation Schedule Reminder

For those of you in Confirmation here is a recap of our upcoming schedule:

Wednesday, March 31 & April 7 – No Class due to Holidays
Wednesday, April 14 – Regular Class
Wednesday, April 21 – Last Day for 1^st Year Students
Wednesday, April 28 – Confirmation Service Rehearsal
Saturday, May 1 – Confirmation Service for 2^nd Year Students
Wednesday, May 5 – Good Evening Game Show!!!
Wednesday, May 19 – First Elevate class designed just for you!

For our 2nd Year Students if you have not turned in your testimony Rough Draft that is due to Pat ASAP.

Confirmation Cancelled

Due to the school closings throughout the area we will be canceling all classes this evening at Cross of Christ, including Confirmation.  The test scheduled for tonight on lessons 13-15 will be taken on February 24.

Our schedule over the next few weeks is as follows:
February 10 – No Class
February 17 – No Class, Students are expected to attend Ash Wednesday service
February 24 – Meet at 5:37pm, Students will be serving and cleaning up the Lenten dinner this evening. Afterwords we will have them take the test on Lessons 13-15.
March 3 – Meet at 5:37pm, Students will again be serving and cleaning up the Lenten dinner.  Class will be after dinner as usual.
March 10 – Regular Class
March 17 – Test on Lessons 16 – 20
March 24 – Testimony Rough Draft Due by all 8th Grade Students, Regular Class

Confirmation Service Hours

If you need some extra Confirmation service hours we’ve got a few great opportunities coming up for you.

First, on January 16th you can stop by the church at 9:00am to help take down the Christmas Decorations.  You’ll be taking everything down and putting it back into storage for the next 11 months.  There will be some light snacks before we get started and you should be done around lunch time.

Second, on February 7th after the 10:30am service there will be a special anniversary luncheon here at the church for anyone. We’re going to need some extra help putting all the tables and chairs away after lunch.  Stop by, hang out, and then get some service hours in.  Lunch should be done by 1pm and we will finish around 1:30pm.  For every person that helps out we’re going to offer 2 hours of service time for this little block of helping to clean up.

*** The above has been canceled due to the cancellation of the Celebration Service in February.

Third, the church is looking for some new Ushers to help out during the service.  You’ll collect the offering, help count people, and help with communion.  This is a great responsibility and is open to any of you!  All you have to do is talk to Pat and he will forward on your name and info to the leaders of this group.  You’ll be placed on the schedule and get to help out as much as you want!

*** Fourth, Beth Kalusniak is looking for some help with light office work.  If you’re interested let me know and I will have Beth contact you ASAP (or you can always ask her yourself).

Don’t forget that you need to complete a total of 35 hours of service this year so keep looking for those opportunities and let me know if you need some help!

Confirmation

Just a quick reminder that there is no Confirmation class until Wednesday, January 6th!  We’ll meet in classroom 10 after we clean up the Chapel dinner that evening.  Have a great holiday!
